CHRISTMAS OFFERING
Every year, Newday asks the questions "What if Christmas could still change the world? What if once again Christmas brought good news of great joy?" We then go about spending less on ourselves, so we can give generously to the Christmas Offering. Here are the four organizations we chose to support this year:
MomCo envisions a world where all moms have the security needed to grow thriving families. Yet today, the journey of motherhood faces urgent challenges. MomCo works to promote the health of women and children, advocate for better birth outcomes, reduce child neglect and abandonment, provide education and job opportunities that aid self-sufficiency, and strengthen women with community and friendship.
We hope to raise $5,000 to support a MOMco start-up in a closed country.
Parker Task Force, an all-volunteer organization right here in Parker, helps those suffering financial or personal crisis find a path to improvement and a return to self-sufficiency. Parker Task Force also provides backpacks of food to students in our local public schools to ensure they have food each weekend.
We hope to raise $10,000 for Parker Task Force.
Step Seven Ministries, whose vision is to see men become Christ-centered, set free from their addictions, and transformed into leaders, is a non-profit ministry right here in our own community of Parker. Step Seven’s sober living homes serve as places of accountability, community, and safety as men learn to get real with themselves, others, and God.
We want to raise $10,000 for Step Seven Ministries.
International Justice Mission (IJM) is a Christian organization that works in developing countries to protect people in poverty from violence by strengthening local justice systems.
We hope to raise $50,000 to fund rescue operations of children caught in online sexual exploitation in the Philippines and restrain the perpetrators.
